Tomorrow night is UFC 71 on PPV. It could be the best one yet as the biggest name in MMA Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell coming off a cameo on the HBO series “Entourage.”  will take on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson who has been tabbed as the fighter with the best chance to end Liddell’s dominance. He handed Liddell his only loss in the past four years — a TKO on Nov. 11, 2003.

Let's just hope Chuck isn't comatose like in this interview for the fight or he'll die. WOW!

Here's their last fight where Rampage won.

Forget boxing, UFC is where it's at!

Having never really watched Ultimate fighting, I wasn't sure what it really was all about. Was it still that "street UFC1.jpgfighting" that was banned where there are no rules and fighters were getting killed? Or was it like the WWF where it's all scripted for pure entertainment? Or was it like today's boxing where there are no stars and no real action?

I decided since I used to like WWF as a kid and enjoy watching big boxing matches, (even though there hasn't been one in many years) I would check out the UFC. Here is what I found out:

  • The UFC is matches with the best Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters in the world. MMA is an intense and evolving combat sport in which competitors use interdisciplinary forms of fighting that include jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and others to their strategic and tactical advantage in a supervised match.
  • Fights take place in an octagon
  • It has State Athletic Commission approval in such major states as New Jersey, Nevada, Florida & Louisiana.
  • There are 5 Weight classes:
Lightweight - over 145 lbs. to 155 lbs.
Welterweight - over 155 lbs. to 170 lbs.
Middleweight - over 170 lbs. to 185 lbs.
