Scott (CEO) In a recent confidential survey, ESPN.com asked NFL head coaches to identify which player they thought
teams would select first overall in a leaguewide draft of current players. In other words, if each current player suddenly became available in a supplemental-style draft, which player would teams want to select above all others?
Twenty-nine of the 32 head coaches responded and Tom Brady was the runaway winner over Peyton Manning. Twenty-two coaches said they thought Brady would be the first player selected in such a draft. Six head coaches went with Manning. One head coach chose Jason Taylor.
