Posey Wants To Stay

Posey.jpgCeltic Hero, James Posey (speaking through his agent, Mark Bartelstein) helped ease the fears of C's fans everywhere, stating that he truly wants to return to Boston and help defend our title.  Now, in no way does this mean Posey is a lock to remain a Celtic, and he's still opting out of his contract on July 1st, but if he's sincere (and I believe he is), he may give us a slight discount to return.

Anyway, here's what he (aka, his agent) had to say:

"...he really hopes that (the Celtics) want him back as much as he wants to stay there."

“The bottom line is that we want to get it done. The thing (that impressed) Posey is that the fans in Boston are so educated, they understand why he’s so valuable, and how his play shows with things that aren’t on the stat sheet.”

“There will be a lot of interest. Who wouldn’t want him?  But he loves it in Boston - the ownership, Danny, Doc, the players. He wants to come back.”

Thankfully, Ainge seems dead-set on bringing him back.

“We want James back,” Ainge said. “We need to come to an agreement, and that starts on July 1."

In other news, things aren't looking good for a PJ Brown return.

“He’s of the mind-set that his career is over,” Ainge said. “But he also hasn’t completely closed the door on things, so we’ll have to see how it works.”

While I don't really want to lose PJ, it wouldn't be the end of the world.  Losing Posey, on the other hand, could be disastrous.
