Maybe, Maybe Not...

Aaron Gettings With the Sox looking outmatched and uninterested in this year's ALCS, I thought I'd brighten up your mornings with a bit of potentially good news... I don't want to jinx anything, so I'm not going to dig too deep into this, buuuuuuuuuuuut, here's a little quote (via the Boston Globe), from Doc Rivers after last night's exhibition win over the Cavs:
When asked if Cassell could be an assistant coach and not a player when the season starts, Rivers said, "I don't know yet. We'll see."
So you're telling me there's a chance?!?!
Other good Celtics news:
Ainge plans on exercising Rondo's 2009-2010 team option, worth $2.09 million. That gives us plenty of time to work out a long-term deal before he hits the market after the 2010 season.
"I love playing with my teammates here," Rondo said. "I love the organization. It's a great organization and great to be a part of the Celtic tradition, the history. I definitely don't want to leave anything on the table.
"We have the Big Three here and I want to milk them as much as possible. I want to be around when they're here and when they're gone."
Lastly, the Beast known as Kendrick Perkins was in action last night, grabbing 5 boards in 21 minutes. He took no field goal attempts, said he felt "a little winded" and committed 4 fouls, but he's back. Season starts in just a few days.
